The president of the Magtel Foundation, Auxiliadora L\u00f3pez Magdaleno, thanks these associations for their work and highlights the important role of volunteers, particularly those involved with the \u2018500 Solidarios’ campaign, which the Foundation has funded for more than 72,000 euros.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Magtel\nFoundation has acknowledged the solidarity work of thirty social organisations<\/strong>\nthat have played a pivotal role in the fight against poverty and social exclusion.\nThe event took place in the main hall of the University of Cordoba\u2019s<\/a> rectory building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, titled\n\u201cGracias por Estar\u201d<\/strong> [Thanks for\nBeing There], showcased the work carried out since the 500 Solidarios campaign<\/strong> was\nlaunched back in April 2020. It came about as a result of the Foundation\u2019s reorganisation\nof its<\/strong> social action programmes<\/strong>\nin light of the COVID-19<\/strong>\npandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this\ninitiative, the Foundation has not only worked to address the health emergency\nby providing resources but given the impact of the pandemic, it has also\naddressed a social emergency in the broadest sense of the term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative\nsaw the creation of a structured system for the donation and delivery of food\nand essentials to social organisations who provide direct assistance to people\nat risk of exclusion. More\nthan 72,000 euros<\/strong> has been allocated to the campaign so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partnership\nactivity during the pandemic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President\nof the Foundation<\/strong>, Auxiliadora\nL\u00f3pez Magdaleno<\/strong>, has highlighted the need to recognise these\norganisations for their efforts during the pandemic, and thanked them \u201cfor all [their]\nwork, <\/strong>which has been vital for\nso many people in these difficult times\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same\nvein, highlighted the essential role of volunteers and recalled how the 500 Solidarios<\/em> campaign began in uncertain\ntimes. \u201cThis initiative has gone from strength to strength as a result of the\ncollaboration of all the organisations we want to thank today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her speech was\nfollowed by several discussions<\/strong> moderated by journalist Marta Jim\u00e9nez<\/strong>,\nwho hosted the event. The first was focussed on the role of the organisations<\/strong> and included\nappearances from Carlos\nEslava<\/strong> from Food Bank<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong> and Sara Rodriguez <\/strong>from Fepamic<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second was\ndedicated to volunteering and featured Carmen\nQuero<\/strong> from Caritas<\/strong><\/a>, Jose\nMaria Lopez<\/strong> from Obra Social Hermano Bonifacio del\nHospital San Juan de Dios<\/strong><\/a> and Antonia\nPalacios<\/strong> from Magtel<\/strong><\/a>.<\/a> Finally, representing all recognised organisations, Eduardo Garc\u00eda<\/strong> from Fundaci\u00f3n Prolibertas<\/strong><\/a>\nmade an appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
