The award falls within the&nbsp;\u201cConexi\u00f3n C\u00f3rdoba\u201d&nbsp;program that promotes research and knowledge of the historical connections between C\u00f3rdoba and America<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adri\u00e1n Fern\u00e1ndez and Luis Palacios, the Magtel Foundation\u2019s Director and Cultural Manager, respectively, participated in the awards ceremony alongside Enrique Quesada, Vice-Rector of Innovation and Regional Development at the University of C\u00f3rdoba; Ricardo C\u00f3rdoba, Dean of the School of Philosophy and Humanities; and Eulalio Fern\u00e1ndez S\u00e1nchez, Director of the \u201cC\u00f3rdoba, Global City\u201d Chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition is open to anyone enrolled at a research center or university in Spain and America, between&nbsp;April 1&nbsp;and August 31, 2019,&nbsp;with a \u20ac1,200&nbsp;prize for the best&nbsp;unpublished study on the historical, social, economic and educational relationships between American nations and the city of C\u00f3rdoba. Submissions will be judged by a panel according to their quality and coherence, bibliographical references and connection with inclusive schools of thought on miscegenation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The competition\u2019s rules and information on the submission process are available\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uco.es\/organiza\/centros\/filosofia\/images\/documentos\/novedades\/Premio_Investigacion_Jose_de_la_Torre_y_del_Cerro.pdf\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>here<\/b><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jos\u00e9 de la Torre y Cerro<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For many years,\u00a0<b>Jos\u00e9 de la Torre y Cerro<\/b>\u00a0was the\u00a0<b>official chronicler for the C\u00f3rdoba province<\/b>. He studied the life of the city\u2019s distinguished residents, particularly those involved in the <b>relationship between C\u00f3rdoba and America<\/b>, and his work stands out for its ability to convey the importance of what miscegenation represents today.
