In particular, through its initiatives to generate, support and promote the employability of people at risk of social exclusion.

On the occasion of the celebration of its 25th anniversary, Fundación Orange also recognised, within this framework of celebration and synergies between third sector organisations, Fundación Ana Bella, for its commitment to helping abused women; and Fundación Don Bosco for its socio-educational projects for the socio-occupational integration of young people.

The president of Fundación Magtel, Auxiliadora López Magdaleno said that “it is an honour for us to be able to support this essential task which contributes to ensuring that no one gets left behind in the path of digitalisation, something which is the key for the present and the future”.

Auxiliadora López Magdaleno emphasised that, both the Board of Trustees of the Fundación Magtel and all those who work and form part of the team of this entity, “see this recognition as an impetus to move forward, with even more enthusiasm if possible”.

In addition, during the meeting, a round table discussion was held in which  experts debated the possible applications of technology to reduce the digital divide in the most vulnerable groups or those with greater communication difficulties.

The colloquium was attended, in addition to the director of Fundación Magtel, Adrián Fernández Cárdenas the operational director of the Fundación Ana Bella, María Gracia Prada the general director of Fundación Don Bosco and president of Escuelas de Segunda Oportunidad (E2O), Ignacio Fernández Cárdenas, Ignacio Vazquez and the General Director of Autismo Sevilla, Marcos Zamora.

25 years promoting initiatives

The Fundación Orange is celebrating 25 years of promoting the digital skills of people at risk of exclusion, joining forces with other entities in Andalusia to promote, in particular, initiatives aimed at young people with difficulties adapting to the traditional education system, women in vulnerable situations and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Cordoba has completed one of the most important events of the year in the field of employability with the celebration of the ” “Talent Tour“ an event organised by the Fundación Princesa de Girona in which more than 6,000 children between the ages of 14 to 20 years of age participated. Her Majesty Queen Letizia was in charge of inaugurating the event.

This initiative, which was held from 13 to 19 April, hosted debates, presentations, conferences, workshops, shows and exhibitions with the aim of connecting with opportunities for personal growth and, at the same time, promoting what makes this sector of the population unique.

It was attended on the behalf of Magtel by the Head of Recruitment and Talent Management of the Personnel Area, Álvaro Barona and the Training Technician, Cristina Gallego and the technician of Employability Programmes of the Fundación Magtel, Cristina Gallardo and the Projects Technician of the same entity, Rocío Ciero.

Prior to the workshops given by Magtel’s professionals, the head of Recruitment and Talent Management of the company’s People Department gave a talk entitled “Hack the job search, do you dare?” in which he presented Magtel, as well as Fundación Magtel.

In addition, he explained the activity carried out in the field of employability and the vision and perspective for the attraction and management of talent, the personal vision of the recruiter; and the analysis of the current labour market, taking into account the most in-demand profiles and the importance of continuous training.

Finally, Fundación Magtel’s Project Technician, Rocío Ciero, gave an overview of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can have an effect on selection processes.

During the rest of the day, the following workshops were held three training workshops led by Magtel technicians Cristina Gallego, Cristina Gallardo and Rocío Ciero with the aim of improving the employability of the participants. These include workshops on how to improve  LinkedIn profiles and understanding the InfoJobs application from a recruiter’s point of view.

These tools are essential for those seeking to increase their employability in an increasingly competitive market.

The “Talent Tour will come to Lugo on 2 May for a new meeting with young people on the field of employability.

The director of Fundación Magtel, Adrián Fernández the Mayor of Osuna, Rosario Andújar and the representative of the European School of Machinery Roxu Grupo, Manuel Altaba have signed a collaboration agreement to set up a series of training actions aimed at training unemployed people unemployed people in the sectors of renewable energies and telecommunications.

Fernández described this agreement as “a complete success, because initiatives are going to be implemented that will improve the professional training of citizens to put them at the service of companies and thus offer them an  opportunity in the labour market“.

In this sense, he advanced that “the training that is being proposed on a three-way basis is aimed at  quality training so that the residents of Osuna and the region have sustainable job opportunities over time”.

On the other hand, the representative of the European School of Machinery – Roxu Grupo has stated that “in the policy of expansion in Andalusia of all our activities we have found in Osuna an incomparable framework to develop this quality and very specific training and to open the training framework in this area, because the vocational training is, in short, the economic engine of a region.”

For her part, the Mayor of Osuna highlighted the solvency of an international company such as Roxu Grupo, which requires qualified personnel, and continued her speech by pointing out that this specific training is completed with the Fundación Magtel, “which in turn also needs people trained in these matters to be immediately incorporated  into the projects they want to develop throughout Spain”.

Rosario Andújar closed her speech by pointing out that the objective of this agreement is none other than the generation of employment aimed at a rapid incorporation into the labour market.

Fundación Magtel, in collaboration with Fundación Generation Spain has started two training programmes on the installation of solar panels in Seville – Magtel’s headquarters in Aerópolis – and in Cordoba. The initiative makes training and access to the labour market  possible for various vulnerable groups.

This new call for applications has been very well received. In this sense, the percentage of labour market insertion of the first two courses was 100%while the following four training paths- still to be finalised – are registering an insertion rate of 70%so far.

For the 40 vacancies in Seville -morning and afternoon shifts-, a total of 116 attendees  were registered in the pre-selection interviews, which means an attendance rate of  83% of the total number of applicants. In Cordoba, more than 100 candidates were interviewed to fill the 20 vacancies.

Specifically, this programme has a total of 430 hours divided into several blocks: 270 hours of theoretical content and 100 hours of non-labour work experience in companies in the sector. In addition, candidates will obtain other knowledge related to Occupational Health and Safety at Work as well as transversal workshops linked to the “green sector”.

The theoretical block is made up of the layout and actions prior to the photovoltaic installation; mechanical assembly in photovoltaic solar installations; electrical and electronic assembly; maintenance of photovoltaic solar installations; self-consumption electricity installations; introduction to the self-consumption of electricity; diagrams and technical specifications; Occupational Health and Safety at Work  in electricity: assembly and maintenance of high voltage and low voltage installations; and work at heights.

Once again, the new call for applications for grants  for Fundacion Magtel professional internships  has been opened with the aim of contributing to the labour insertion of recent graduates, especially young people without experience. The entity offers a unique opportunity through its Introduction to the Professional Field Programme.

To be eligible for one of the scholarships, participants must have obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution after 31 December 2019. Students of technical engineering or higher who have passed all the subjects required to obtain the corresponding degree, with the exception of the final degree project, and students of intermediate and/or higher vocational training cycles who have passed all the theoretical subjects prior to their incorporation and have completed their internships in the company, may also apply for this programme.

The profiles must be in line with the characteristics required for the placements offered by the collaborating organisations, with which collaboration agreements will be signed beforehand.

Once selected, the participants will be placed during 2023 in different companies and institutions in order to apply the knowledge acquired during their training and learn how to function in the reality of a professional context.

Interested parties will be able to submit their applications throughout 2023.

Fundación Magtel has joined the Alliance for an Inclusive Energy Transition promoted by  Fundación Repsol and Fundación Santa María la Real through its Employment and Social Inclusion Area. It is the first multi-agent network that is committed to the energy transition as an opportunity to develop solutions to the employment and social problems of vulnerable groups.

To this end, the Alliance plans to develop a range of employment and training programmes to boost employability. In addition to Fundación Magtel, the rest of the members can access the results of these experimental programmes in order to carry out other training actions.

The participants, who come from more than 70 entities, maintain a social approach as a value proposition for the training and updating of professionals in the context of the energy transition.

The Alliance for an Inclusive Energy Transition also consists of an important network of allies and key actors who pool their resources to achieve common goals, improving the pattern of action and creating synergies.

A young university graduate registered with the SAE (Andalusian Employment Service) with no prior employment has been recruited

Last December, the Magtel Foundation began the second phase of its “Digital transformation of recruitment processes in social centres” project. The project’s objective was to simplify the recruitment processes in social centres by implementing digital transformation. This programme ran for six months and ended on 31 May.

The first phase, carried out between December 2019 and April 2020, consisted of a study of the jobs, analysing the skills required according to the most sought-after professional profiles in social centres.

This second phase, which has received funding from Imdeec-Esal covering 69.7% of the project’s cost, resulted in the hiring of a young university student with no previous formal employment. The student was registered in the city of Cordoba and had signed up as a job seeker with the SAE. The Magtel Foundation contributed its own funds to cover the remaining 30.21% of the programme’s cost. Its objectives include the social transformation of social centres and the promotion of social and labour inclusion for young people, particularly those who struggle to find their first job and gain their first formal experience of the working world related to their university qualification.

This initiative has boosted productive sectors in the municipal district of Cordoba, as well as the inclusion of new technologies within management processes of social centres and institutions.

On November 15, the Magtel Foundation began a new FTTH training programme in Granada. Its objective is to train unemployed persons registered with the SAE as fibre optic broadband installers.

The training course, promoted by the Endesa Foundation, the Magtel Foundation and Granada City Council, will last around one and a half months, with a total of 180 hours of training.

First, participants will learn the relevant theory, giving them the knowledge and skills necessary to assemble and install fibre optic broadband infrastructure.

Once the theoretical part of the course is complete, they will begin their work experience. To assist with this, the organisations involved have established agreements with companies that operate in the sector where the participants will complete their training.

Developing these training programmes is part of the Magtel Foundation’s and its partners’ commitment to social and labour insertion.

The Magtel Foundation is accepting applications for a new edition of its Business Initiation Programme (PIAE), an annual initiative which offers work experience internships. This aim of this new edition of the programme is to contribute to the labour insertion of new graduates, especially young people without prior experience.

The programme is particularly aimed at individuals who have completed a university degree, education cycle or master’s degree from an accredited centre within the last three years.

Participant profiles must meet the requirements set out by the collaborating organisations, with which partnership agreements have been signed.

These internships help young people learn to cope with the realities of the working world by applying the knowledge they acquired during their training.

Commitment to training young people

Currently, the Foundation has agreements in place with 85 Secondary Schools and more than 20 Spanish and international universities. Its aim is to promote training and job integration in areas such as engineering, administration and finance, energy, electronics, telecommunications, IT, marketing and international trade. This initiative, promoted by the Magtel Foundation, is part of its commitment to enhancing training and employment through talent management and creating opportunities.

The latest Magtel Foundation Business Initiation Programme stood out for its high rate of labour insertion. Up to 57.37% of participants were employed by their work experience placements at the end of the internship period.

El delegado de Empleo, Formación, Trabajo Autónomo, Economía, Conocimiento, Empresas y Universidad, Ángel Herrador, ha visitado esta mañana la empresa Magtel para mantener un encuentro con las personas contratadas gracias al proyecto de Interés General y Social, IGS, denominado ‘Terapiam 3.0’ que Fundación Magtel ha desarrollado durante siete meses y en la que participaron 8 desempleados. El responsable territorial ha estado acompañado por la presidenta de Fundación Magtel, Auxiliadora López.

Herrador ha querido agradecer la predisposición y colaboración con iniciativas de este tipo “que aúnan para mejorar la empleabilidad de las personas con la búsqueda de soluciones en diferentes ámbitos y que pueden transformarse en generación de empleo, traduciéndose en proyectos sólidos, reales y de futuro”.

El delegado de Empleo ha puesto de manifiesto no solo la importancia de conseguir la inserción laboral de los participantes, “la iniciativa ha permitido la contratación de 8 personas durante siete meses y esta empresa ha contratado a cinco de estos participantes”, sino en los sectores donde se ha desarrollado su actividad, “los participantes han trabajado en el ámbito de ingenierías de telecomunicaciones, industria e informática, terapia ocupacional, trabajo social, administración empresas y programación de aplicaciones informáticas, profesiones sin duda con mucho futuro”.

Por su parte la presidenta de Fundación Magtel ha agradecido el apoyo de la Administración en este proyecto y ha destacado que “gracias a los programas de empleabilidad de Fundación Magtel contribuimos a la generación de oportunidades laborales para personas desempleadas.” Además, Auxiliadora López ha resaltado que “los proyectos de innovación social que se desarrollan en Fundación Magtel favorecen la calidad de vida de personas con discapacidad y en situación de dependencia.”

Un proyecto en constante evolución

TERAPIAM nació en 2015 fruto de la iniciativa de Fundación Magtel y la División de I+D+i de Magtel. En su fase inicial fue considerada como Proyecto de Interés General y Social Generador de Empleo por la Junta de Andalucía.

Este sistema funciona como herramienta complementaria de apoyo a los profesionales Terapeutas Ocupacionales / Fisioterapeutas, a través de un entorno virtual terapéutico más dinámico y en consonancia con nuevas tecnologías innovadoras adaptadas al ámbito social.

La evolución de Terapiam se ha dirigido hacia entornos 3D. De este modo, mediante una experiencia lúdica y virtual, la persona usuaria se ve inmersa en escenarios de realidad virtual siendo protagonista de su terapia de forma autónoma, al tiempo que es orientada por su profesional de referencia.

Con esto se persiguen tres fines fundamentales: Investigar nuevas herramientas complementarias que puedan ser incorporadas al sistema actual de TERAPIAM y permitan evolucionarlo; adaptar todas las terapias, sesiones, espacios y escenarios ya desarrollados en 2D a 3D, y seguir dotando a las personas terapeutas de herramientas de innovación tecnológica que les permita seguir motivando a sus personas usuarias para la prevención de su movilidad física y mantenimiento cognitivo.
